SEXY ASTROPHYSICIST OF THE WEEK

I was watching The Daily Show the other night, and I think I have a new person to add to my list of nerd crushes:
The Daily Show With Jon StewartMon - Thurs 11p / 10c
Neil deGrasse Tyson

This is astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, rocking possibly my favorite vest/tie profession-related ensemble of the year. He's been on The Daily Show before, as well as NOVA and RadioLab, two of my other obsessions, which you should really check out if your idea of an exciting Friday night involves watching a documentary on Mayan hieroglyphs (Guilty!)

Anyway, I noticed when I was scrolling through the Daily Show's guest archives that the Robert Pattinson (of Twilight movie fame) interview had about 30,000 more views that Neil deGrasse Tyson's interview. This seems totally unjust, given that Tyson clearly has fathoms more personality than Robert Pattinson, who appears to be all hair. I mean, who would you rather talk to at a party, the guy who can tell you about terraforming planets and converting moon water into rocket fuel, or the guy who wants to talk about the hotel he's been staying at for the past week? Geek girls and ladies, we have to do our part to represent!
Neil deGrasse Tyson is the hotness. And clearly he has great taste in vests. That is all.

NEW STORY: "AMOR FUGIT" IN F&SF.

March is here (although you wouldn't know that from looking out my window, where our nth winter storm is in full swing), and for me, that means the March/April 2010 of The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction is out. It contains my new story "Amor Fugit." You can read reviews of it in here, on SFRevu, and here, on The Internet Review of Science Fiction. Lois Tilson has some interesting things to say about electronic vs. print format and the publishing industry in general in the second article. I'm sick today, and the Tylenol PM is kicking in, so that's all for now.
